so i am selling my car and a guy came over to look at it tonite. so he looked at, then took it for a little drive. he knows i need to get rid of it soon b/c i am moving so i think he was trying to get one over on me. he pulls out his carfax report on my car. i am the second owner of the car and i did a carfax before i bought the car 4 years ago. i guess carfax got better since then, but when i bought the car i was checking for a salvage car, which it wasnt. i bought the car at 19k miles and havent had any problems with it. this carfax report says on it a few times, vehicle serviced (from the owner before me). so this guy is telling me he will give me a lower price for it b/c of all these things on the carfax report and take it off my hands for me if i cant sell it.
as far as i can tell all these 'vehicle serviced' things are just basic maint. anyone have any clue how vague these terms are on carfax? the car has ran great since i bought it 4 years ago and put on 30k miles on it. |

They are regular dealer maintenence, thats all. Tell him to fax on fax off. ok that was dumb.

it is a 2001 VW GTI 1.8 turbo (50K) manual 4 cyl. i am asking 11k. i think that is a fair price.
thanks everyone. the guy was a bit of a jerk actually. i think he was trying to pull one over on me b/c i am a girl. he said he wouldnt pay more than 9k for it. |

Does it have the sport pkg on it?
I can't remember if that pkg came out on the GTI in 01 or 02 |

Yep the heated seats & muffler bearings. I think that package also included a kenutin valve.
