dude, you phukin threw down last night and i loved that mix of infusion - legacy (junkie xl mix) that you threw down. What happened to you showing up at the afterparty bro,?? :whip: anyways bro hope to hear about your night.
As for me this is my review, dave brought the music to get the crowd going for the hour preceding ferry corsten hittin the decks at midnight. Then the worst thing in the world happened, for two hours as ferry flawlessly mix for song after song. even threw in dooms night. His mixing was great, the crowd was feeling the music, girls everywhere, and the best part was when i hit the peak:eyespop:
nevertheless hope that someone can put together a tracklist of the songs that ferry dropped. i remember
Rui de Silva - Touch Me (unknown remix)
Ferry Corsten - L.E.F.
Ferry Corsten - Beautiful
Ferry Corsten - Punk
Ferry Corsten - Rock Your Body, Rock
Ferry Corsten feat. Simon LeBon - Fire (Ferry Corsten's Flashover Mix)
Ferry Corsten - Watch Out! (Dub Mix)
Azzido de Bazzo - Dooms Night (Original Mix)
BT - Simply Being Loved (? Remix)
cant remember any other songs as i was gone like none other but im sure you guys can fill in the other tracks that were dropped from midnight till 2:10am

He also played:
Ferry Corsten - Galaxia (2005 Remix)
Alex M.O.R.P.H. & Rank 1 - Life Less Ordinary
Sorry I didn't make it to the afterparty guys. My friend Arturo was waiting for a cab and I didn't think it was coming so I offered to drive him home so he would make it safely. I drove him all the way to the Southeast side of town and was sooo tired I just drove home.
Wow, last night was like a dream!!! I was pretty nervous stepping into the booth and seeing few people on the dancefloor, but it filled up pretty fast during my set...just not sure at what point. I think the high point was during The Killers remix and I got a decent response on my own remix. I really need to go back and adjust that mixdown though, but it felt great playing it.
I wasn't expecting to play Infusion - Legacy (Junkie XL Mix) and would rather have played Max Graham - Time and Again (Last Ever Sidechain Mix) in its place, but the first two tracks were instrumentals and I felt I needed something catchy to draw people in. The people up front looked a little goth/emo so I thought Legacy was more appropriate and lo and behold, spike bracelet fist-pumping ensued.
I was decently happy with the set and I heard Ferry was jamming out to it at our table, but Dirk could have been lying about that. I did keep the tempo between 128-130 and Ferry said he really appreciated the gesture and then commenced to play an amazing set. Granted, he could have played Reggaeton all night, then drop Galaxia and I still would have thought it was a great set.
I was really drunk when the promoter asked me to close because the closing DJ used vinyl and they didn't want to set them back up again, but I agreed to do it. The closing DJ didn't have CDs and asked if we could tag it up using mine, which was no biggie to me. I just fed him tracks and he picked up the CDJs really fast which shocked the Hell out of me.
Big ups to Dirk, Jake, Mark, Lizandro, JoJo, Ryan, and any other TAs I missed. I'll remember this night always.
I can't even describe what it feels like opening for the guy that inspired me to do this DJ thing in the first place. I never would have thought in my wildest dreams back in 2001 when I listened to Exhale and Tenshi that I would one day be rocking a show in SA with him.
If I had to repeat all the SA "scene" politics, the times of being frequently passed over, ignored, and underestimated by promoters, the empty-roomed weeklies, and the loads of other bullsh*t that comes with this damn job to get that direct opening spot for Ferry...I would do it again in a heartbeat. It was worth it.

Yet again you prove to be stronger than all of that. It's crap but effort leads to success and all effort is always rewarded in the end.

"Galaxia" is in' tight. That track alone made me go out and buy L.E.F. (not that I needed an actual reason).
We're proud of you, blue. Now we just need to shove you in front of 10,000 people at Ultra or something.

Well, hopefully someone out there notices and makes it happen. I'll keep pumping out remixes in the meantime. |
