Man!
This is becomng so much harder to choose than I thought it would be! You guys are amazing, thanks for all the advice.
I think it's toss up between Utah and Vermont, though I'm tempted to just stick with Utah due to the relatively cheap flights (£380 - £435).
Are there any good operators that'll do decent pacakges?
How long can you ski for before you get bored? I mean, is 2 weeks too long to just ski? |

ok first off 1-never get bored of riding pow, 2-you can do other things besides skiing like snow mobile tours heli tours etc.
I'd say Vermont is a good choice but you'll get fair(er) weather in Utah and have more of a social life then vermont. Meaning the park city and salt lake city areas you can visit when you aren't riding powder.
and if i could take off 2 weeks for snow... lol i might not even come back =T
Go with Utah, there's something there for everyone |

Assuming Utah to be the number one choice; is it a bitch to get around without a car? I doubt we'd be driving due to premiums on car hire and insurance! Is it easy to get up to the mountains from Salt Lake, I mean, are there courtesy buses or whatever that pick you up etc?? |

I don't think there are shuttle services from Salt Lake City Int'l to Park City, it's about a 30min drive from the airport out to park city. The drive is spectacular though because you'll be coming from the valley in through the mountains. I found it extremely necessary to rent a car because I wanted to see as much of SLC/Park City as much as possible and without transportation, it's literally impossible. If you stay in the Park City region (on the strip) you might not have a problem but going back to the airport will be an issue.
The snow fall in SLC is like non-other. So be careful, you can literally see how the clouds and snow just get stuck between the air pressure in the valley and the mountain and basically just hovers over the mountains and dumps snow. The highways had snow maybe 15-20ft high along the edge the whole way.
Once in park city there are shuttle buses up and down the main strip and cabs in the local area of park city. |

Here are some of the pictures from my trip to Salt Lake City, Utah.
Excuse the lack thereof, I lost my camera on the last run of the last day of the trip. Over 300+ pictures were gone, these were scrapped from 2 of my friends cameras.

Doesn't look likely :(
I've just done a few searches and flights looking to be £435, then on top of that $500 (£265) for season pass. That's £700 and then on top of that, ski-hire, accomoodation, food, going out etc...
What's my cheapest option (except to not go!!) |
