Any Chartered Accountants here?
View this Thread in Original format
DJ Mikey Mike
I am applying for a chartered accountants apprenticeship with a company, and am wondering if anyone could offer any advice on what to put in my application letter - other than my qualifications, my good ability with numbers, my courteous and polite nature and my top notch effort at all times, etc.

Basically anything that might show that I have put in some thought and research to the position (and before anyone starts, I will of course be doing this anyway :p - but it just might help to get some preliminary ideas / advice from people in the know.)

I don't hold much hope because i've never seen anyone on here mention this sort of work before when talking about themselves. But it would be great if anyone has any ideas.

Fanks innit.

Thanks. Could you elaborate on that a little? Like how I could incorporate this into my letter?

How long ago did you finish school? How many similar jobs have you had in the past?

3 years ago I think. I have very decent qualifications in maths and further maths, and also in business studies and computing.

As far as experience goes though i've mainly been doing managerial work for the last year and office work - so I have done a fair bit of cash administration - but i'd mainly be clutching at straws if I tried to claim I have any real experience at this.

Try concentrating on any major projects you've done that relate to what you're looking to do as a chartered accountant. Even if you've only done one, stretch it out and explain what the project was what your role was etc. Also mention you were number 110 in the DJ Mag poll last year. Everyone in the UK is a dj so it will go over quite well.

I'll bear that in mind, thanks.

Honestly though, if you'd like you can send me a copy of your resume and I can forward it to my girlfriend. She's a recruiter here in the states, i'm sure she would be of some help.
