Having called on national accounts for 3 years and independent retailers for 1 year, I have no trouble saying:
indy retailers > big box stores
for customer service, product knowledge, and special ordering. |
HELLO WE ARE NOT FROM NJ |

i dont know it really depends, personally i would go with GAP, lotsa people you will meet and network with , as well as chicks, and you get decent clothing which will expand your wardrobe.
Best Buy- hmm, i would like all the gadgets and stuff, but after a while they all become useless and keep replacing them.
bottom line- i rather put my money on clothing which is more useful to me than a bunch of computers and ipods and other electronics. |

I know someone who worked for best buy and hated it. I don't know if it was just his store but every morning everyone had to gather and do jumping jacks saying "BEST BUY!" everytime you did one...and if you came late to a morning meeting they would make you sing "I'm a little teapot." Sounds like they have some weird psychological going on with their employees.
Oh yeah, check this out too: http://www.bestbuysux.org/ |
It's called corporate culture an evil thing that started with Big Blue back in the 50s or so.
Ultimately it builds a sectarian environnement and isn't conductive to increased productivity hence why there has been a decline in such type of culture in big corporations but they are making a comeback and that's a very bad thing.
Gap or Best Buy .... which of the lesser two evils I suppose would be Gap .... but for the coolness factor and simply getting away from retarded mall rat teens I say go for Best Buy ( despite the fact I hate their product selection and each time I have been there the staff always gave me a blank look when I needed advice on something ) .... freaking dumbasses. |

I worked at best buy in 2 six month stints. ing hated it. Such bull to be pressured about numbers when you are getting paid 10 bucks an hour and could give a .
Part of their selling tactic is telling people that you arent on commission and then pressuring them like you are for numbers. You get no reward, no benefit.
Man I hate that place. Dont do retail, its the devil. |

| I worked at the Gap, it was pretty sweet. Lots of hot chicks walking around trying on clothes. What's wrong with you? |

How can you make a statement like that when he is one of the only people in this thread you was in favor of Gap and did NOT mention discounts on clothes!
And if gap is fashionable so is jc penney's mail order catalogue. |
