I've seen you post on here a lot and helping out people here, big ups to that and we'll all miss you here! Like all the others have said, nothing but respect and admiration comes from me bro. Good luck with the future plans and stuff. I wish and hope for the best for you!

Keep in touch.

Stay in Touch nem- pm me!

Expect a post like this from me in a few months too- I am giving it up professionally for good soon too. It is not the same as it was, and more importantly I am not the same person I was when i started doing this. 4 nights a week is more tiring than it sounds as you know.

All the best buddy

I can't say I blame you... I work a regular office job all week, and I couldn't see myself playing out more than 2-3 times a month at most. I just had my 3rd 'real' gig last weekend, and while it was fun it was a lot of stress leading up to it.

I suppose that will pass with time, but I kept asking myself "This is a hobby, why am I so stressed out? Is this fun?".

And maybe I'm just getting older, but the 'scene' definately wears on you. Shady people, drunken/drugged up messes, etc.

I can't imagine working in clubs as often as you do...

i assume that giving up djing don't mean giving up dj booth ;P this forum without your post wouldn't be the same place :D

This board will be far worse off with out you Nem, and you know it :(

I hope you find what you're looking for, even if it has nothing to do with music and DJ'ing.

Thankyou for all the time you've spent helping others and myself directly and indirectly, i have nothing but praise for you.

Wow I have really enjoyed your posts over the years. but you definitely deserve a break, it sounds like you are kinda burnt out. I get the same way here at uni. This will be my 8th year in college, ive been getting degrees and everything, but I still have a while to go and I just wanna go to india and take a break.

but best of luck to ya. and can I get on your promo lists now that you dont need them :p

Karl,

Just wanted to add that you have been a huge help for me and many others here on the forum. Ive only been mixing for two months but before i even started, still actually, ive been searching your posts because they've been so informative and helpfull in many ways. Now that i have all my gear and have the basics down, im already mixing harmonicly thanks to you and others who have helped in your thread. I think that your making the right decision by giving back to your family, that makes you a stand up guy. Good luck with your new ventures in life and keep in touch, your help has been much appreciated around here.

Wow I don't know what to say. I'll try my best to help others the way you have helped me. Best wishes.

Thank you guys, this is heartwarming indeed.

As many of you have stated, it's a tough decision, but at this point I just feel I have to take a break to work out if I miss it or not. Don't worry though, I can see myself sneaking back once in a while. Just to see how life is going for the rest of you.

Burnt out is probably the best description of the situation I'm in. I'm at a stage at the moment when listening to music can almost annoy me and that's not the way it was supposed to be.

I will be focussing a lot more on my own productions now and may even move away from trance for the time being.

Thanks for all the PMs

And in the immortal words of Hariz...

Cheers
