What the happened to such a great series...

Nick Warren's last GU imo was still pretty decent...but what I think happened was the end of the prog movement..everything pretty much started sounding the same in the past few years or so...nothing really fresh unless you take the Bedrock O.S series and a few of the new Balance series' have been some what decent.

Seriously. But as mentioned before there, are a lot of other mix series now (Balance, Masters Series, Fabric, etc) so it's not really that big of a deal if GU ceases to be relevant.

Because GU doesnt have to be prog...imo the point of a GU is to capture the vibe of its namesake city. The best GU's have always done this. This one looks like a bunch of tracks. What do they have to do with Dubai? Dunno...maybe they got played there once or twice... :wtf:

Ghetto ass tech house with lots of Jay Z and 50 Cent samples, all layered over eastern instruments such as the trombone and tuba.

:toothless

Isn't that kind of the point of the GU series? And isn't "figuring it out" supposed to be what the artist is getting paid for?

This just seems lazy and appears very generic...
