Plastic Dies

My favorite record stores Plastic Fantastic shut down in London about a month ago...

I'm shattered.

Sure, i know the world's going digital....and that vinyl would slowly phase out was a foregone conclusion... But Plastic, and the crew there were special.

Covent Garden will never be the same again.

With the growing popularity of sites like Beatport, Audiojelly.. I think these stand alone record stores will be completely gone in years to come.. or may switch to 'niche stores' for DJs who still use vinyl..

R.I.P. I guess; both to stores (and to vinyls?).

oh my god...plastic went down too!?!? i haven't been there awhile since i'm not really a prog dj, but they were most definitely one of the better stores in london. incredibly up-to-speed on their music and actually knew what they sold.

that totally blows though...i never thought that i would witness the downfall of so many vinyl stores.

Now who is Randy Katana?

I thought ASOT killed it when most of new releases are released on this show nowdays and is instantly available for download the minute the show is over.

Way to miss a joke. He was obviously referring to his "track" named Plastic Fantastic.
