IMO homeless people and people on welfare are quite similar. They want money and do nothing to get it. As long they keep getting the money, they wont stop doing what they are doing.
personally, people on welfare should not be allowed to buy smokes, booze with their money. If ur that poor, u shouldnt be smokin/drinkin
I think the guvernment should create shops and make em do labor work, at minimum salary and provide them with low income housing....at least we get something out of the deal for our tax money. It aint friggen hard to do manual labor.....
For example, my aunt has an orchard....and because people are lazy, she has to get dudes from jamaica to do the harvest. And those guys are paid more than min wage....so f**** lazy people. there are jobs out there.
I dont ditch out money to bums, and prolly never will. Food maybe...
After reading some article about bums in TO, where less than 50% of them would refuse food or make sick excuses so they can get money...those guys deserve to get pissed on and freeze 2 death in the winter.....sorry for being so harsh! |
I think a lot of you are unaware of the mental health issues of more than half of the people suffering from homelessness. A lot of these people are schizophrenic, have dimensia or some other mental illness that hinders their chance to get a job.
I agree that there are a lot of people who abuse the system, and they should try and work a little harder to crack down on this, (and to fix the shoddy system we have in the first place,) but I don't think they should be treated like slaves either. These people usually come from a bad life, and have many problems. If anything, we should be trying to focus more money on trying to rehabilitate these people and really help them out. |

Ok. So I am stood in line at Tim Hortons at King and Victoria this morning and a bum comes in and starts asking people to buy him a coffee.
He asked about 4 people who all ignored him and turned their backs until I turned around and said 'I'll buy you one'.
I got 2 medium regulars and passed him one. He thanked me and I continued to my office.
Would you have bought him a coffee? |
No. |

Seems like all of your posts have the same pattern. Simplistic and useless. No offense but it would be more constructive to say something else along just "No". What exactly are you contributing to the conversation? How about you explain why not? |

I am chillaxed....apoligies if I came off as wanting to rock the boat. I'll have to disagree with you however. It would be a pretty useless thread if everyone replied as mr DarkAngel over there although I do agree that nobody is forced to put in a whole essay as a response lol. I was just curious as to what DarkAngel's reasonsing was..(not that i disagree/agree with him).

How exactly is that relevant? I'm just someone who reads this forums (mostly lurking as you tell), part of this online community.
