| ... High maintenance girls are just insecure, and need you to constantly stroke their egos. I'd choose a low maintenance girl, who still takes a bit of pride in her appearance and takes care of herself (hairy legs for teh lose!). |

| I understand high maintenance as a girl who's really closed at times and acts tough and pretends she isn't interested in any man at all, one of those very secure independent woman... that's why I go for high maintenance, not sure if self esteem can actually be related to any of this in my opinion. |

I meant high maintenance as in the girl (when you're already in a relationship with her) who expects you to know what she's thinking (ie. she says nothing is wrong, even though she's clearly upset, and if you don't figure out whats wrong without her telling you she gets upset), is very demanding, wants to spend time with her ALL the time, gets pissed off if u don't offer to carry her stuff for her or open doors for her, gets pissed off when you hang out with your female friends etc etc...
ie. a girlfriend that requires a lot of effort to "maintain" hence "high-maintenance". To me it is the opposite of independance. That's what I've always understood the term to mean. |

| what i don't get is how so many girls can NOT be into video games, LotR, Star Wars, computers, the combustion engine and its modifications, and politics. Its like the specifically chose not to like what i like, thus ending any form of compatibility. |
