+1

any Henry's... not as cheap as a big box retail store, but at least they won't cram an extended warranty down your throat.

i'd also recommend the canon. Me, my brother, 2 of my sisters and 2 of my best friends all have the powershot sd400. i love mine. its easy to use, takes great pictures and video. its small, and pretty sturdy. i'm not known for being careful with my ..i don't put it in a case or anything, and its perfect (albeit wear and tear scratches).

Your are right to a point ..

In higher end D-DSLR cameras .. you want either the Canon EOS or Nikon D70+

Cannon and Nikon are where its at .. as for Point and Shoot .. I was not a fan of any of the Nikon cameras that i've used .. The Canon like everyone as said .. is one of the best P&S cameras out there..

the SD600 is an amazing camera yes .. my bro has it .. big LCD screen on the back .. and really nice pics !

I love Fuji for P&S cameras, Finepix F420 was my fav

Advice would be to go to one of the clearing-type places (there is one at College and Spadina) and get a refurbished one.

Wow the 630 downloads pictures wirelessly and also takes pictures from up to 100 feet away from the camera. Now that is high tech.

Have you noticed any issues with red eye? my SD400 gives everyone red eye even in red eye protection mode... I think i need to take it in to get looked at...

Agreed. If you are downtown, Henry's has both an outlet store and a regular store right beside each other (Queen and Church). They've always got good deals in the outlet store.

Plus, I think the dude with the beard from the Canadian Tire commercials works at the regular store. It's probably worth the trip just to see him...

that's not something that can really be fixed. it's just because it's a really small camera. the flash is too close to the lens, and that's why you have the red eye issue.
