Sony DSC-T series cameras are swank.
I use the T1 and it's top notch. Highly recommended. |

| Never buy a digital camera at futureshop. It took them over 1 month to repair my camera once it broke. meanwhile the 2nd time it broke i took it right to canon and they had it fixed in 1 week. plus futureshop even refused to fix my canon because they said it was personal abuse. bastards! |

So I ended up going for the Canon Powershot A530. It cost me $250 and I'm very pleased with the pictures it takes.
Here's an example of one, taken about a foot away from my face, with about 4/5 of the pic cropped out so that you can just see the main area of detail.
