in my town is 4 clubs...one of them has an ooooooooooooooold numark mixer, the ather has a Behringer, then there's one with American DJ, one with a desk-built-in two chan. behringer and one which does have a DJM by pioneer...but is owned by two heads...

see?

You understood my point. which was that most clubs have ty mixers. I just picked denon because when I was in india every club seemed to have a 10 year old barely working denon in them.

The point is almost all mixers in low end clubs are ass.

From what I've seen in the tri-state area (NJ/NYC/PA), its breaks down like this:

NYC - All about the Rane! Most of the clubs I've spun in (and I've spun in a lot of the big ones as well as the small ones), they've had either a Rane MP2016 (w/ or w/o the expansion) or they let you pick the mixer you want to work with (a la Crobar and Avalon).

Philly - Def. geared towards Pioneer. Most of the clubs have a standard DJM 600 or 500, which is what I normally end up playing on whenever I go there. Some of them are starting to carry the DJM 707 (go figure  ) and some of them are starting to experiment with newer mixer (many of the newer clubs), but I usually end up on a 600, which I dont really mind.

NJ - It's really a toss up. The clubs are not loyal to one particular brand and I really haven't spun at too many of the clubs in the state, but from what I have spun on, the majority have been Rane mixers. Either a 2016 or an MP44.

In Europe, its all ECLER, A&H or Rodec

i am surprised why some clubs cant invest in a better mixer! You need your DEEEJAY!

Why are you guys ruling out the small clubs that dont have ranes and xones? Denon is what these guys have for the most part.

And these are the clubs you'll most likely be playing :p

That depends on the geographical location. I've been to most of the hole-in-the-wall/floor-is-going-to-collapse venues in the greater Seattle area, and the only mixer I've seen in these venues has been the DJM. Most of the time it's broken in one way or another, but I've never seen anything else.

God, I hate not being 21.

I don't understand your slang. And when I said "those are the clubs you'll most likely be playing" or similar, I wasn't excluding myself. ;)

Haha. Well, maybe we do, but that doesn't make up for the fact that every Seattle DJ thinks it's good to red-line a mixer.

Crobar's pretty sweet dude...I was just there two weeks ago! Kinda like Stereo, only with more lights and flashy decorations (in their main room).

In the UK, you're most likely to come across a Xone62 or a DJM600... a few have got DJM3000s, a few are now installing DJM1000s, Xone 92s or DJM800s but they're still pretty rare.

I'm still yet to see a club installation over here with a Urei, some Rane mixers are very occasionally installed and a few have still got Vestax PMC-55s or various other mixers.

I'd say 70-80% of my gigs are either on a Xone62 or DJM600.

I'm with Stu on this one. I play out almost every weekend and most of the clubs I played at use either a DJM600, a DJM3000 or.... and I hate this one... a Vestax 05Pro. :(

It's rare to use anything higher than a DJM600 but I have used the Rane 2016MP with Expansion, Rane Mp44, Rane TTM56, Xone 92, Pioneer DJM800, and a host of others including Behringer, Numark, and American DJ.

Oh one more rant... Forget the ty mixer, how about mixing at a ty club with a ty sound system where the decks are behind the main speakers and you have no monitor!!! Thump Thump Thump
