Your most heartbreaking sporting moment

Being religious supporters of atleast one game, im sure all of us have had atleast one moment where a result whether it was the importance of the game or the manner in which it happened made us want to cry, hit someone or jump out of a window ... so lets hear some sob stories

mine would have to be englands loss to portugal on penalties in euro 2004. The way they came back into the match twice after going 1-0 and then from 2-1 with portugal scoring first in injury time and england scoring in like the 188th minute made me confident that they would do it on penalties.

I was wrong , england lost, i threw things and sulked the whole day.:whip:

obvious, but the Liverpool comeback in the CL final. The second half just made me go crazy (not a Liverpool fan, but I dislike AC Milan)

Oh, and when M. Haifa played Man U and Yaniv Katan scored the first goal. I was shocked. we then got beated 5-2 :(

And a couple of other important wins by M. Haifa, goddamn I need to buy my season tickets already...

chelsea vs man utd cup final quite a few years back. we dominated the first half an hour or so, and then lost 4 nil. i was quite young and was very upset on at 90 minutes. my old man was so ed off he ripped out a seat and through it toward the man utd fans.

i was 9 years old, my team (Wydad) was playing against Africa Sport from Ivory Coast for the African Super Cup. we were losing 2-0 and it looked like the game was over for us, but we managed to score a goal to make 2-1, and when we scored a second one to draw, i just in' lost it and started cryin' of joy hahahaha

but then we lost on penalties, and i cried again of sadness   :whip: :whip:

Marítimo on UEFA Cup. We always play fantastic against top teams, but lose. We made Juventus sweat a lot in the mid 90s, and more recently we took both Leeds United and Glasgow Rangers to penalty kicks, losing in both occasions. :(
K.I.K.E.
Most recent, the last promotion game of my home team, in 26/6/2005. 2nd leg(2-1 down in 1st leg, away): 1-0 in the last minutes, and the rivals making long passes into our box till the 96 minute. Final whistle, promoted 11 years later to Segunda Division... and the extasy, tears, joy...

The only goal of the 2nd leg:

Special mention to Euro 2000' Spain vs Yugoslavia, the 2 goals in the prolongation.

Barcelona v Real Madrid, when Romario scored a hat trick and Barca ended up winning 5-0... I was heartbroken that day.
Also, Real Madrid vs Juventus, same year when Ajax won the Champions League, Real had won 1-0 in first leg when game should have ended like 5-0. In 2nd leg, Juve came back and won 2-0, I was just a kid back then and cried like crazy.
I didn't cry but it totally ruined not just the day but the whole week, I was in a terrible mood when Juve again took us out 2 years ago, we deserved better and we lost as always... I still haven't been able to get over that loss.

May 31, 2002 game 7 of the NHL Western Conference Finals. My Colorado Avalanche (the 2001 Stanley Cup champions) utterly fall apart against the Detroit Red Wings...they were shutout and the damn Red Wings scored SEVENT goals.

Most memorable horrific moment: Roy's Statue of Liberty Pose

verndogs
Jets - Steelers playoff game: Pittsburgh, PA

Having to sit at the end zone where Doug Brien missed two field goals

pic i took from my seat

actually that's my 2nd worst sporting moment:

Most Painful Sporting Moment: James Dolan hires Isiah Thomas to run the knicks
