my experience of Rank 1 @ Pawn shop

well i got ther around 12am had a few drinks and was hanging out. Was confused about the whole metro shuting down thing but didnt think to much of it as long as rank 1 hand some where els to play. so im ther and Piet(Rank 1) comes on alttle pass 3am which was cool (better late then never)so im ther dancing around.. having a good time when about 15min into his set i see some guy come up to him about every 10 min during his set. So im like "what the is going on let the guy breath a little". so i go over to the Dj booth and find out its one of the Owner of the Alien Signal Radio show that was supose to play at Metro for the after hours trying to get Piet to come of the decks so they can play. Well then thats when i got alttle upset. these guys are trying to kick another dj off that traveled half way around the world which they are supose to close for. SO thats when the whole argument started between me in this guy about how he has more right to play because hes been playing in miami for X amount of years, and that every ones ther becasue of "him and the radio show". yea so i had to brake it to the guy that people are here for two reasons. 1 of parantual because its ther night and 2 Rank 1. ther was alot more to the argument but i dont really remember it (maybe will tomorrow)....if i do ill post more about it ....goodnight

Yes I did see Piet of Rank 1 in San Fran and I had an enjoyable experience. But for him to get mad at something I said in the review thread because I didn't like 1 song that he played. [David Amo & Julio Navas - Electronic Electro]
GET OVER YOURSELF. Not everyone is going to like every single song you play. You aren't number 1 and won't ever get number 1 with that attitude. Tiesto the most hated and trash talked dj doesn't remember people who talk crap about his trainwrecking or playlist.
lol. Was an interesting night must say. But I'm glad I didn't waste money in San Francisco or tonight.
Must've sucked playing 45 mins lol.
There's more I can say but I won't ruin this review thread. It's only a 45 min set to review anyways.

Yea Piet is an ass!
Just reminds me of what a jerk he was in the private room in San Fran. Even the promoters were pissed off and really annoyed with him after everything was done with. Probably wont be booked with them again heh
Why do people even go see him in the first place is beyond me...

Listen, I know this isn't my place or anything to take anyone's side or whatever, but if I can just say one thing it's this. Trance isn't supposed to be about this and although many arguments go on, as many politics exist as in any other genre, Trance is supposed to be about about friends. I know if we all sat down, Thomas (BTW, love the 2v2 rework), you would have as many good points as Piet and vice versa. Maybe next time he comes to town, you guys can invade the bar and end up doing a back 2 back set.... and record it for TOTA's. :toothless

when i was talking about my experience with him from san fran, it was first hand... backstage, as we both played on the same night.
when i meant he was a jerk, i really meant he was a jerk. We havent met before, and anyone that saw what happened in that room that wasnt part of the "friends" circle, was not happy with how he acted as this professional person hes supposed to be. I will not get into what happened since many know anyway, but i always wanted it to be a private affair anyway.
Maybe if he was a nice person I wouldnt mind going to a bar with him and being friends. The nice person you see behind the decks is probably him being fake so everyone thinks well of him. |
