Thank you Thank you TOTAs for your excellent hospitality!
I'm the guy who came up from Texas just for this show! Ok, not really... I came into town for a wedding, hopped on to trusty ol' TA, and decided I couldn't miss this show (even though I'll see him in Dallas next Sat), so I rocked it solo.
I didn't catch much of Dean's set due to showing up late and not realizing I'd be in line for an hour, but Howells kicked ass as usual... I mean dropping FSOL and Moby within 20 minutes?? I stuck around till about 5 or so... how late do you kids party around here? :)
It never fails whenever I party in a new city I run into TAs all over the place. It was great meeting Liam, Soco?, _____, Sean Cassidy, David A. (who bought me a drink on HIS birthday?!) You guys rock!!
I'm thinking of going out to Guv tonight as who knows when I'll have the chance to party in TO again. But for now, time to go play good wedding guest. |

WAHT. A. NIGHT!
First and foremost thanks to Sean Cassidy for the amazing job he did hooking up my friends with table service. That was one sick spot that we had; right by the dance floor just off to the side. My friends, who are relatively new to this sort of scene, were all on cloud 9 for most of the night. So much so, that now they wanna do this a monthly thing, hahah!! wikkid wikkid!!
The club itself was obviously very busy. Sometimes it became unbearable but that just meant that I needed to change locations. Crowd was very TIL-ish, which obviously leaves a little bit to be desired. But hey! At least the eye-candy was :eyespop:
Now onto the music. I got there at about 11.30 with Dean Coleman already tearing it up. At first I really enjoyed his set, and definately enjoyed the tunes he played (emphasis on TUNES) but there was no structure to his set. Oh well. He pleased the crowd with some of the anthem's he played, and since it was TIL and that's what those people wanna hear, that's great. Danny Howells though, took it to another level. Brought it back down for about 45 minutes with nice deep tribaly stuff, before kicking it up a notch again and went straight into his signature sexy, pounding beats. He went a little too techy at times, but I honestly didn't mind. Towards the end of the night I probably looked like some cracked out Guvver, standing there with the sketchiest grin on my face, lol.
This party is definatley up there with Demi's show at TIL a couple weeks back. Those who didn't come definately missed out. Nice seeing everyone out and meeting a few new people.
Cheers! |

* Sketchbag here....
so i think that my hang over wore off at bout 11:30pm from the night before just in time to go to TIL. I have have to agree with pretty much well everyone the music was meh it was just plain nothing to exiteing to get me going ... it was overly packed and i had to resort to the S-A-F-E-T-Y dance but for some strange reason i had a blast night i guess good freinds make up for ty music :) |

I dunno how you people can say the music sucked. It had it's ups and downs, but overall Danny's set was like a breath of fresh air compared to all the crap going around nowadays. I admit some of the techno stuff he played killed my buzz, but he managed to keep his rhythm pretty well. |

I thought Dean's set was kinda so-so but the last hour was pretty good. Danny was getting off to a slow but good start but I had to leave by 2:30. Very early for me but I was so tired from not sleeping much all week and the pushy crowd was getting to me by then. Also having to stand 10-15 min just to go out for a smoke was annoying. As peter said crowd was very TIL-ish but this is the first time it bothered me. I wish they had opened the upstairs section. Would have made things much more comfortable. Great seeing a bunch of TAs out, all having a great time. Once again happy bday Dave A. You definitely know how to rock the out! :) |

I LOVE DANNY!
i am so ing sad that it's over cos that was the best bday celebration i've ever had by far. way, way wayyyyyy too messy an evening, but what an awesome set from my favourite dj in the whole wide world! coleman was not bad, but i felt he was playing a little too "big" for his time slot. hello - anthems! does anyone know if that was the original version of "running up that hill" that danny played right at the end of the night? we were trying to figure that out.
i always get so terrified that i am going to be in someone's pics from the night before and thank god i'm not! phew.
i will never forget this night even if i don't remember half of it right now! LOL. |

One thing that pissed me off, even though I should've expected it, is Danny playing the dub of Guetta vs The Egg - Love Don't Let Me Go (Joe T Vanelli mix). I in hate when Howells goes for a dub of a sick vocal tune. |
