just listened to couple of moore'sets and i must
say while his technique is fine his programmes aren't
spectacular by any measure in a positive note andy
might be more compelling live spec playing iny if not
armin's techno trance short sessions will be all the
inspiration i seek for the weekend...

word up.
i don't understand why you people are getting all excited about andy moor. he's just another producer (and lately, a subpar one at that) who puts no effort into his sets and spins dog.
like g&d, he's part of a whole class of producers-cum-djs and who skate by on spinning unimaginative pap with little or no thought put into actual programming. these people make a mockery of dj-ing and for the most part seem disinclined toward improving their skills.
real djs, even those i don't particularly care for, have, at the most basic level, an ability to actually construct something -- anything -- during their sets.
there are a few producers like bt and holden whose early sets were god-awful, but who took their dj-ing seriously and consequently improved by leaps and bounds. the oft-drunk moor is not one of them.
for 5 beans i suppose you really can't go wrong -- especially if you're going to support your opening peeps -- but there's a reason lawler is 20-30$ that goes beyond venue and hype.... |

eh, this dj stuff is totally subjective. Andy came to Philly awhile back and people seemed to think he awesome that night. Maybe you caught him on an off night somewhere. |

I was there in phily that day, and was very dissapointed.
He played about an hour for a crowd of about 50 people half of which were chilling at the bar and talking.
If he can't get 50 people dance their asses off and leave satisfied I don't know how he's going to handle a larger crowd.
I got on the forums the next day and said what I thought about him and that whole set, but phily people didn't want to agree with me.
I don't know what kind of shows they get there in phily, but if Andy Moor pulls the same sh1t here in NY, I can't see any future for him here.
I'm willing to give him another chance and will probably stop by Love for an hour or 2. Hopefully he improved himself.
No doubt his productions are great, and I still listed to them car/home/ipod, but live? - SUCKED. |

I never made it to One14, but I kind of got the impression it was a loungey type of place, not really a clubby place at all. Its kind of hard to play trance at a lounge and have the place go off....not really a good fit.
Come out on Friday and I am sure Andy will kill it, on the best sound system in NYC no less! |

There's been worse. Scott Bond played to no one @ One14.
The 3 times I was at One14, no one really danced. I think when M.O.R.P.H. came, that was the only exception.
I think NYC will be much better. Hopefully promotions got out to everyone who listens to Trance in general. |

while i like one14 ... it is no club at all... it was a lounge, infact the floor was a carpet - how the hell can you dance on a carpet? there were also 3 levels and that would thin the lounge out a little bit interms of a crowd...
Philly just isnt the market nyc is...
and from what i recall the philly peeps that i know loved it.. one14 is just not a good place for dancing

It's harder to get smaller crowds to dance. No one wants to be the first to start embarassing themselves. :)
Even Junkie XL had problems at Ultra because of the thin crowd and he's one of the most energetic performers in the EDM scene. |
