speaking of serato, is it possible for me to burn the serato timecode cd and use that instead of using the original cd ? |
Yes, Actually Serato recomends you do that. I use burned copied of my timecode with emergency tracks on them, just in case. This has worked wonders.

I think you can even download the control CDs from their website if you're a registered owner of SSL. |
You don't need to be a registered owner. You can download the timecode off Rane's website (http://www.rane.com/scratchlivecontrol.zip) and you can get the software directly off ScratchLive's forum. However, you DON'T need to be a register owner, but you do need to be a forum member to download the software only. Many famous DJs post there including MAX GRAHAM. ;) |

I simply stated that M-Audio has a greater breadth of software then Rane/Serato, which is true.
You would think they could leverage that to create a decent product.

Well I said it was pure speculation. I let everyone know that, so they know I don't have the facts. You're the one saying M audio puts more work into their software than Serato like it is a pure fact even though the product isn't even on the market yet. |

Nope, if you already know how to spin CD or Vinyl and you know how to drag a file from one area of your screen to the other, then you will be up and running on it in no time. |

True but a lot of the functions are already found in FS2 + TDJS except for rewire and the built in effects.
We shouldn't argue though. |

| that's m-audio's solution to time-coded digital manipulation but rane has it's own interface/program called Serato Scratch Live which is the other thing people have been disucssing in this thread. btw any torq users out there who have opinions?? there have been a couple of reviews but nothing really in depth and all very limited...ive thought about investing. |

There was a huge thread on Torq the day it came out, there was a load of in depth information in there. Well, enough to make me want to sell Serato and buy Torq instead... |

| yea i followed that thread but honestly didnt feel as if there were enough reviewing done on it...there was like 2 in depth reviews but didnt contain much about using torq with CDJ's or rewire or anything beyond the basic features... |
