Yeah that's right. Luc Besson's Le Grand Bleu or as you first said, The Big Blue for the americans. One of my alltime fav movies. Not too complex but ahh so beautiful and the ambient soundtrack fits very nicely. :p |

it's one of the most beautiful movies i have ever seen, the relationship between the three main characters is brilliant. Definitely in my top 10 |
