OK, everyone on these forums can speak english, and most prob better than me, heh.
Anyway as the internet is now mainly in english, and the fact that to really communicate on the net you need to speak english. Will eventually everyoen in the world speak english. And maybe it become the only language in the end?
So what do you think?

No I don’t believe so.. because
there are THREE main Languages in the world. (meaning that all languages from east to west belong to one of the three categories)
No matter how much one will try to make the world a single speaking nation. it wont happen because ppl always have different wants and needs
Just because English is one of the Typical languages I don’t think it will over power Spanish, German, Italian, Russian, or Chinese etc.
TRUE... to the Outer space creature we already speak one language. BUT we as a planet will not be able to speak ONE language.
Cuz think about the way others speak.. I mean .. like.. Tibetans.
Me My I Mine Myself.. is one word.. (I don’t know what word but it's true) so if your saying "that book on the table is I" it means "that book on the table is mine"
so yea I really don’t think so sorry..

The simple English will never overpower a language as complicated and difficult as Russian
:p
Judge for yourself: 3 genders (masculine/feminine/neuter), 6 declension cases for nouns ("padezhi"), 3-4 classes of declension, inflection for verbs, hundreds and hundreds of endings, dual number, mood suffixes, etc. etc. etc. etc. |

Thats why i live in Canada now;)
I think that English will always be one of the major Languages in the World, but never the main one. I personally love my language, its very discriptive and beautiful (IMO). Granted its hard to learn but i wouldn't want to forget my language, or just simply speak only one language, EVER. |

| OK, but i personally think, in the future to get by the world will need to speak one language, be it english, or eventually all the languages turning into one. But with the net, and the world becoming a smaller place, it is hard to communicate as it is in anyother language than english on the net :) |

Oh yeah? Try Polish - one of the most difficult languages in the world.
My opinion is - I guess the world will be bilingual - native language and English. I don't think English will replace native lngs. |

Well, Polish is basically the same as Russian :)
same grammar, very similiar vocabulary and syntax...

| even if the whole world would speak on langue ....un time different languages would be created.....from dialects and different terms ...that each region wouild create ..so i think is almost impossible for a world to be speaking the same langue...but i beleive in the near future it is possible that majority of the world will know how to speak english as well as there native language.. |
