| well, i agree with the article that it is kinda b.s. but, this is one of the best musical marketing ploys i have heard of. it resulted in over 100 different remixes with royalties being paid to xpress 2 (as i understand). on top of this, they get publicity. i can't blame them at all |

I heard they received some flack on it. I just remixed it because I liked the vocal...I didn't care to join the competition.
I hate shamelessly promoting anything I do and the BEAT Tour was the last exception. |

| The funny part is on djforums.com I know I've seen at least one or two people with Xpress 2 - Kill 100 (insert random remix) listed as their favorite track. |

Thanks for sharing, the post was intended to make you think about the competition.
Dave's mix is very well done, congrats jotetz.
I think the author is trying to point out that each remixer deserves more recognition, more economic benefit than those arranged on the competition. In my opinion, the author is trying to blame x-press-2 for trying to use other people's creativy to their own benefit.
I think x-press-2 is giving opportunities that other producers and bands should consider; It's a good way to open doors for other bedroom musicians aswell...
I don't agree with half of the article, just thought it would be fun to hear your thoughts... |
