what i don't understand is how is pornography legal...but prostitution isn't? :conf:

A lot of these "poor women" are making 10x the money you do simply by faking orgasms on camera. And you're feeling sorry for them? :conf:

I would consider the porn stars to be artists, like any other actor/actress.

The difference, I presume, is that actors aren't being paid for sex but for allowing their images to be captured on film.

I doubt you'll find a porn star hooking downtown on saturday. Similarly, I doubt you'll find a prostitute with a contract that says what her tasks are and affirms that all the members involved are doing it cos they want to.
Floorfiller
well whatever kind of loop hole they want to use that's fine...

so what if a prostitute was paid for my friend to film her while i ed her and not for the sex inparticularly...now it's legal?

she's not a contract pornstar or whatever, but we could have our own personal contract for that evening... now it's legal all of a sudden?

my guess would be that the porn industry is controlled by different studios/companies that take steps to ensure the safety and health of their employees by using condoms and enforcing regular STD tests. since prostitution isn't controlled in a professional manner like that, it's up to the individuals to protect themselves.

i mean, i know there's some sketchy porn out there... but as a whole i think it's handled more professionally than prostitution. porn stars are just providing a service like actors/actresses.

You still picked her up from the street downtown where she sells her body to random men. Filming her doesn't make any difference.

dj tek: I didn't know pornstars did escort services. Examples, please.

In countries where prostitution is legalized, the industry is highly regulated and you'll generally find large, well organized labor unions to protect both women and men in the industry.
