NO,
I think you have also to put your hands in the air & wave it like you just don't care... |
that is actually kinda dangerous. Suddenly the DJ drops rank 1 - airwave and you're stuck for the next 5 mins.. |

If you do really care about dancing, I would highly recommend listening to other types of music and understanding musical rhythm in a broader sense, and then taking even dance classes for multiple kinds of dances. It is important to understand one's body in space and time, it's like a kind of personal architecture. I learned how to dance salsa, bachata, and merengue, and I had a long experience with playing jazz and latin music before I even went to clubs for house.
One of my best clubbing experiences as far as dancing goes was at a tiny salsa club in guanajuato, mexico (admittedly not havana, but the owner was from that city) I was with several friends and some of them dance salsa extremely well, and I was dancing with my girlfriend - but the most amazing thing was a woman dancing with a crutch, who was perhaps the best of everyone, dancing with a feeling so bodily, so expressive despite her obvious handicap. it showed me the power of knowing one's body. and there is a beauty to a body moving in a harmonic way like there is a beauty to proportions in architecture and in musical intervals. Why do you think UFC fighters train in martial arts in many cases and don't just go out and flail their arms and jump up and down? There is something more about dancing than simply doing whatever you want
I say: get to know your body and coordination by taking dance lessons in another type of music that you might like that has more of a 'method'. Then, go to a club and dance however the you like, as if no one cares. You will have more confidence and more awareness of your body in relation to the sound, the rhythm, the space, and the vibe around you. It's important to feel the music with your entire body, but not with every part of your body at once, of course. Remember you have legs, and feet, and hips, not just an arm with a clenched fist, or a tight designer t-shirt that you want to show off with a guido gorilla lumber |

Dancing to trance isnt something you can pick up before you get to a club. Just go in, check out other people dancing and if you see some styles that you like try and do something similar to that.
My style of dancing is constantly changing as I pick up new ideas and work them into my own style.
The most important thing though is to enjoy the music, the dancing is secondary to that and just enjoy the night and check out peoples dancing styles :) |

There are lots and lots of people in clubs that dance like monkeys...
I don't want to dance like a monkey, damn...!!!
Jump unp and down?
Looks like simple...
Other ideas? |
if you dance "trance" you dance in whatever way you want to at the moment you are dancing. it's not hard. there are no rules. if people laugh at you if you try, you are at the wrong place for dancing "trance". |

There's nothing more annoying than some ing gimp taking up half the dancefloor with some ridiculous looking dance moves thinking everyone's at the club to see him/her. Nobody cares. off. |

| jus close your eyes and move how ever you feel like ... i dont think that there is a proper way to dance to trance. If u dont have good balance then dont drink to much alcohol cuz its not fun dancing when u cannot stand straight. |

If you still have trouble finding yourself comfortable on the dance floor doing your own thing, i have heard scattered reports that some people in ibiza sell little pills that can make you feel less self conscious and more empathetic towards others? Just be sure to drink plenty of water and take breaks ;)

Best advice ever. |
