I just watched an interview between Michael Landsberg and Jason Spezza and Danny Heatley. It was bloody ridiculous. I just hate how canadian sports broadcasters blather on and on about the most pointless if it even remotely relates to hockey.

The money is going to the Nanotechnology Center + Institute for Quantum Computing (they are in the same building), which is in the hands of the university and the IQC.
Co-op labour isn't nearly free. Granted, salaries aren't usually as high for co-op students as they are for other employees, but the students do get paid according to their experience. So it balances out. :) |

| Even for Hamilton to get a team they will have to pay Toronto millions of dollars just to have a team there. The NHL rules state so. I believe its 75 miles from another team. |

Yeah, thats all true, I just heard that two minutes ago too (and before.....)
you remember when Colorado (the Rockies, not the Avalanche) became the Devils? They had to pay New York, New York, Washington and Philadelphia about 5 million each, and that was back in what, the 80s? So maybe Balisillie will need to pay Toronto and Buffalo about 10-15 million each. Its all part of the purchase price, makes that 175 he paid for Pittsburg more like 200.
Its part of the deal, not a deal ender. |
