| i've never really been a fan of the "funky house" thing that everyone's been hammering lately but i definitely know how you feel. after spinning prog house for such a long period of time, i always like to spin old school trance for a while. it brings back memories of why i do what i do. and it's also nice to be able to slam tracks together without having to worry about the usual smooth 3 minute transitions or whatever. you could try branching out into tech house or minimal too.. or just take a week break or so from mixing and start again fresh. |

change genres for a while. i've played breaks this summer when i kinda got sick of prog house.
nowadays i play a lot of melodic melancholy tracks and a lot of minimal.
i'm also swinging away from that jagged, dirty kind of house to a much more bouncy disco house sound ala kaskade, colette
there's tons of garbage out there: every other prog house track is a bass fart - ridiculous.
i listened to widespread panic for 2 weeks and no edm at all to get my ears reset/recharged too |
not a fan of bass farts?? come on.. what's not to like? :stongue: |
