Did you know that Tomatoes and Peppers are native to South America but Eggplant, which they are closely related to geneticly, is native to the orient? Wierd. |

Brussles Sprouts were named for the city they were geneticly created in.
Tomatoes were thought poisoness for decades after their discovery and were grown for decorative purposes.
Carrots were originally beige and had a hard unedible core. It was the French that bred them to be orange and better tasting. You can still find wild carrots growing up north today. They look exactly the same at they did 1000 years ago but smell the same as their orange, commercial counterparts. |

Oh one more thing. Venus Fly Traps are native to North Carolina. I've tried and tried again to successfully grow one but they are hard!
