its funny to see these threads cause since i moved to southern california 2 years ago it has been one hell of a reality check. i have never been around so many superficial materialistic people in my life. its not something i have totally adjusted to it but it doesnt bother me as much as others. its a nice change though compared to the lifestyle of northern cali. i love having so much entertainment in such a short reach. even though i dont like fake people i still love so cal!

The vast majority of TAs I've met have been cool as . Same with most people I meet at clubs. Maybe I'm just oblivious. I'm not saying there aren't s at clubs, there are. But there are people like this everywhere, clubs, theater, market, etc. My only beef with clubbing in LA are the washers and fobs who come up behind girls and rub their junk on them.

Hilarious! I agree 100% with everything you said. This city is where a bunch of us were born and/or raised. If you don't like it, leave, I understand alot of things may be holding you back but that doesn't mean that every few weeks we have to hear about how much someone doesn't like it out here. There are some of us that are part of this scene and both live it and love it. And if you're neither, then clearly you don't fit in.

Ok I’ll try not to take too much space with this rant, but what is up with the scene down here? Why is it filled with such arrogant pricks? Why are there so many presumptuous morons who have an amateurish high-school mentality? Yes I know we get top Djs right and left, but I conjecture they come here more for the money than the vibe.

Why do I say this? Well I’ve been lucky enough to travel around the globe and go to clubs across our great planet. Almost every place I visited was had friendly and amicable people who basically had that original spirit of EDM.

Somehow here in So Cal it seems to be lost. Well it doesn’t take much to realize where we are situated. This is Hollywood after all; it lures in that superficial group of morons who still believe in that “our clique-is-superior-to-your-clique” mentality. Like I said before, wasn’t that in highschool? Seriously, whenever I go out for a break at our lame clubs I see people huddled in their retarded little groups. Oh and when a stranger with friendly intentions approaches eyes roll HAHA…I couldn’t help but notice that when I went out 2 weeks ago.

The sad fact is most of these psedo-"high-society" idiots are nothing more than a sham; most have menial day-time jobs and rely on their nocturnal club-"cliques" for affirmation LOL!

It stems from the over saturation of DJ shows in the Southern California market. California in general has become the biggest DJ market in the world, and clubbers in the LA area are constantly bombarded with so many options that their tolerance level to what is and isn't a good show becomes very skewed. Too many options can easily lead to arrogance and a general lack of reverence to what electronic dance music in all genres is all about. Having had a chance to travel and meet clubbers in many places over the past year, I've seen wild fluctuations in the expectations that clubbers have from certain DJs. It all really comes down to where people live and the amount of choices put before them.

I still think LA in sucks. Not necessarily the club scene... but everything else. The way people are materialistic, superficial, and fake. Cars, money, status, reputation, etc matter more than anything else to some people. People forget how to be down to earth.

I don't think I belong here. I should move to Colorado or something lol.
