BT Anytime anyone? Need your webspace

Ok, anyone with btanytime has 50mb free webspace, i am getting adsl in april, and want to share tunes, and let other share. So if you have a bt anytime account, or have free webspace that is quick and can share mp3s please let me know.

fraid i cant help you with webspace, but is it possible to set up a ftp server on your pc?? I may have a play with my dads cable internet connection when i go home over easter to see if it works well, ill let you know how well it works(or fails!)

Yeah it is possible, you set your comp up like an ftp server. I will have a look on the net for programs to use to do it. :)
I should set up my adsl as ftp, but only for peeps i know :) |

yeah let me know too, Imm housesitting my parents house for a week over easter, and I have no work etc to do, only a nice cable modem to play with! hehehe

dont think it would work very well on my 56k! but it looks easy'ish to set up! let me know how it works for you and any settings u used etc

Well i may do a test on my 56k, but i dont think i will, i will just wait till i have my adsl :)
Anyway you lazy sods should have found it for yourselfs, lol :) |

Dont think it would work well on a 56k, as some isp's give u a different ip number each time you log on, plus it would be a litle bit on the slow side....
how fast is asdl anyway?? it any faster than a ntl cable modem??

Yeah i know my ip changes eveytime. :)
But adsl is permantly connected, ip changes every month for security reasons. Download at 60k, but hopefully will b faster in the future, and upstreem of prob 30k
I am capping my adsl at 5k though, hehe. So cant download faster than 5k.
But i think 60k is fast enough. Ofcoarse that is the home adsl, with a connection speed of 500k. The business ones go up to 2mb connection speed. So work out the download speed, sommit about 240k :)
Cant afford that though :) |
