Hello toronto peepz
Well i figure i'll write a review here for the heck of it. Sander Kleinenberg shows up and plays an amazing set going thru many genres from bangin house to house to trance to deep progressive. People that were there, were shaking their heads in disbelief, could'nt believe that he has that good. So Sander rips apart the crowd and then max graham starts and takes the first record and starts to scratch for like a few minutes. Crowd is gone nuts at this point. So max starts off a bit more hard than he does and he was awesome. Then i point out, around 5AM i see this dude walking around in a blue shirt and it was not other than sander himself. So i go over and say amazing set sander, shakes his hand and ask him if he liked toronto, he says yes, i ask him will you come back soon, he says yes. I say thanks for the amazing set again, shake his hand and walk off. Nice dude Sander is.
All and all, a very good night. I wonder if sasha and digweed in a few weeks time will top this, i sure hope they do.
Regards and very happy

Wow... what a ING night! I had this weird feeling leading up to this party that it would be one of those nights to remember... and was it ever! what to say about Sander K, except he is the man... I had huge expectations going into this party, and he exceeded them beyond belief... his mixing skills and track selection were flawless, weaving seamlessly between just about every genre of electronic music with absolute perfection... dropping the most insane, intense vocal trax throughout his set in pure sander k fashion...
and not to be outdone, max graham stepped up with an amazing closing set... banging out the hard stuff, scratching for 5 mins straight over his opening track :eyes:, and just generally tearing up...
combine that with the best, BEST ing weed I've ever had in my life, and you've got a night to remember :D
great to see a pretty big T.A. turnout for this one... shouts to swamper (oh MAN :eyes: I can't believe what you've got in store for tranceaddict.com... insane!), trancearmada and his buddy (forgot your name:toothless), dietcocaine, and all the other T.A.'s who I can't seem to remember right now... |

WOW!!! Was I at a different party??? lol...
meh...
last night in terms of music was *alright*
I really liked Luke Fairs opening set, some funkier dirtier prog. tracks, I liked the way he opened up the night, had one big up though at around 11:30 but happens I guess...other than that his set was good
john debo was ING BORING!!! OH GOD!!! zzzzzzzzzzzzz, too much BOG STANDARD.
Now onto the headliner, Sander Kleinenberg, the man I had come to Kool Haus to see. Other then the last 30 minutes of his set (which I thought were ing incredible) he was PANTS!!! In the beginning it was like hed string together a couple of good tracks and then hed just lose me with some wank boring tune. I cant stand it when it takes a prog. dj 5/6 of his set to have finally worked up into some more banging pumping tunes. I know prog. is all about the build-up but for s sake why does it take so long for some djs to get things going arrrrrrrrrrgh!!!
By the time Sander had finished his set, I was totally drained and decided to leave which SUCKS cause I wanted to see Maxipad play. Oh well, maybe next time...
So all in all 6/10 for the night...imo it could have been ALOT better...
it was also cool seeing Swamper and DieTcocaine...

Well arrived at 1am just to catch the end of Debo's set.. Sander was pretty good in my opinion... that last song he played SOMEONE PLEASE ID IT!
Max never seems to diassapoint!
Good crowd, lots of women, just the ceiling kept leaking all over at around 4 but thats ok.
Cool seeing you TA's again!
Everytime i see Max he always s up mixing somehow... |

"I’ve been a and I hate ing you now because I love ing you too much; what good’s the head of my inside you when my other head, the one with the brains, keeps thinking how ed up everything is, how ed I am to be ing you and thinking these things which take me away from you when all I want is to be close to you but you for letting me you now when all that connects us is this ing which is as lost inside you as I am, here, in the dark, ing you and thinking - , the wallpaper behind you had a name, what was it? You called it what?"

I don't think it was Sanders last track, I saw Max Graham throw it on the decks, and he started scratching to it!
I have actually heard this played at the State'01 afterparty as well so it's been out for a while now! Funny !:stongue: |

I had a great time last night! I have never actually been to an all strictly progressive party till last night, and what a blast I had.
Nice seeing all the TA's represent once again!
Finally met DietCocaine for the first time.
Sander did a really good set in my opinion, I loved how he build the set around different geners of electronic music.
Max did a really good set as well, he had a much harder set, at least the part that I saw till I left at 5am. I love his scratching, although it seemed somewhat out of a place in a dance club, but I still loved it. I guess it just shows you how good he is. Oh yeah and also I loved when he did all those faces and poses, it was kind of funny but that made me even dance harder! :stongue:
P.S. Sorry of the topic: Swamper can you post that Ken Ishii video please?:D |

Well what can i say? The decor of the place was just a little too dark..
They didn't even come close to filling that place to full capacity.
As for the dj's, Sander's set picked up the last half hour, it sure seemed he saved his best records for last! At that point the place was hyped and ready to receive Graham!
Then the disappointment, Graham did not deliver!! His set was so boring that the place almost completely emptied out by 5.. Not even one of traks really moved me, my feet were glued to the floor..
To top that all off Graham seemed like he would rather be at home sleeping or something, the guy had no energy whatsoever! Like this guy made PVD look like the king of emotions while on the decks!
In summary last night was one big boring party and was not worth 25 bucks...
Thats my 2cents worth,

I don't think you are giving anyone any justice :(
Sander's set totally blew me away... excellent mixing and great tracks ..especially in the last half hour.. It was about time someone of that calibre shows up in Toronto...
As for John Debo... his mixing was great and he played a sweet opener.
and that track about the and what not was max's opener and the is by: PQM Vs John Creamer - The Sonnet
and this is the first time i actually enjoy myself in koolhaus without the cheese and ginos flying about ;) |
