i cant believe on their homepage they have a pic of trentemoller with the caption "best em of the year?". all those sheeple leaving comments its the best, and then people here sayings its the best. it was the most boring piece of crap ive ever heard. downtempo dinner music is all the same to me.

Only a 16-year-old gurner who listens exclusively to Hardstyle and Gabber would consider his set 'downtempo dinner music'.

The first half of it is pretty downtempo. The 2nd half kicked ass, though.

I wouldn't call it the best in 3 years, though.

1st half was more minimal than downtempo

Sorry, the first hour wasn't minimal at all. It was actually pretty layered. And there was reggae and ska in there. I think you need to listen to some real minimal and compare it to this if you think it was minimal. Like some Magda livesets.

Those first 30 minutes are pretty downtempo, then it jumps into more eclectic stuff like The Specials and that Wicked Games remix.

i don't want to listen again in the bbc player, but thanks..i registered in mixing bowl but i can't get that set..i dont see the link.

so if anyone wants to upload it, i'll upload something for you too.

i skipped forward to the latter half, still didn't like it, ive never liked his style of artsy minimal. theres so many good minimal tracks out there but he plays the artsy fartsy type. i prefer heartthrob - baby kate, or grindvik - monuments, stuff that actually has good bass to it and makes you move.

if you have an open mind to different kinds of music it is acctualy really good. Im not a big fan of that genre but i loved the mix all the same.

you're talking to someone who never could decide on what genre to stick to and ended up with a giant vinyl collection with everything from tribe called quest to pacific state to jones&stephenson - the first rebirth.

maybe i was harsh calling the most boring piece of crap. its an alright mix, but not nearly as good as the other ems.

Minimal's just a buzzword that most people don't understand. I'll admit, I did it, too, but I was usually mislabeling a lot of tech-house as minimal.
