| You guys are totally missing Ame's point in my opinion... It isn't about the DJs who come down or the talent, it's the energy. It's the vibe throughout the night, the attitude of the punters. I find there to be much more of a pretentious(sp?) vibe in the US/Canada scene than in many other parts of the world. Everyone gets names nowadays and there are GREAT clubs everywhere, but it's the attitude of the majority of the people that are there that makes or breaks a party and while you may find that at a lot of the smaller parties in the US (or some of them) finding it at a huge commericial superclub might be more difficult. |

Again, I have to stress, wrong parties, wrong clubs.
Just because sometimes they're harder to find doesn't mean they aren't there. |

Small parties > super-clubs anyway, so I still dont see his "point"
Seems more like he wants to talk for fun. Which is cool too since I do that alot also :p |

I don't think "America has no culture" says to most people "Good parties are hard to find." |

Actually, most people who love this music, the real fans, usually think the same... |

I'm just trying to take his words into a different context. Maybe its an unsuccessful attempt, but I'm gonna give it a shot. By culture in many ways, I think he means 'Club Culture'- as he is obviously talking about parties and DJs. |

Hey, I love this music as much or more than a lot of people, I'd call myself a music fan in all aspects, regardless of genre and I think some music is BEST enjoyed on a huge club system or a 100,000 person party on a beach. It's all about context in my opinion. Some indie bands are gonna sounf ing INSANE in that small dirty grungy nightclub in a bad part of town and like on a mainstage at a festival.
Of course this is my opinion. |
