No. Neither does Vegas. Those 2 cities are major tourist attractions so they need to be more lax on their public drinking laws than other cities. Moscow doesn't count either. That city has no laws.

As for New york, can you really walk down the street in Downtown NY with a beer in your hand without attracting attention from the cops?

I guess the reasoning behind this is fair.. however, who would want to take their drink to the washroom anyway?
I would go out of my way not to have to do this... washrooms in clubs are often just too gross and I'd rather not take something I'm about to consume in there with me :nervous:

But I suppose it's nice to have this option if you can't finish your drink right away or if you don't have anyone to watch it for you.

And explain to me how often this is followed?

I think this is a good step. However, I'm with most people here...if I have a drink I finish it before I go to the bathroom, or I'll have a friend watch it. I never leave drinks unattended.

did you bother to find out how much the extra cost is?

did you bother to note that clubs could *easily* save the added fee by not having to post a bouncer/staff near washrooms to ensure that patrons don't bring in drinks? or have them instead performing SECURITY functions instead of being a glorified bathroom attendant?

so tell me then. Whether the cost is $1 or a million, why cant they just make it automatically apply to establishments that already have a liquor licence? This is what im pissed off about. Its just a money grab pure and simple.

I would have thought that you would at least be happy that establishments will have the option to apply for the license...instead of having it forced upon them.
nothing is forced on them. The club would still be free to disallow booze even if the government allowed them to.

I'd like to think that would eventually they will roll it into the overall licencse...but who knows. Outdoor/patio licenses are still separate too, right?

dont even get me started on that

Sorry, I don't really support drinking in public. Someone will always abuse the system. If someone cleans up the homeless problem in Toronto, then I might be in favour of drinking in public.

they already drink as much as they want in public. But do u think our bleeding heart lefties would ever enforce it on them?

No way.

Theyd rather go after rich suburban kids who can afford to pay the fines.
