hey guys,
ive had this problem for a good while now.. everytime when i go to "my computer" and click on my 250Gb hardrive it opens up the window.. and then suddenly dissapears again.. then i get this error message..
it happens everytime i click on my external harddrive.. ive tried virus scans, spyware scans & computer scans. but nothing seem to have solved my problem. could it be that i have to defragment the drive? thanks in advance!

That looks more like a Windows issue. However, if the drive came with software, re-install it. Defragmenting won't solve your problem.
Worst case scenario, you may want to install a separate copy of windows on the same computer, and try the external drive on there. |

the drive came on its own, no software included. its a plug & play device.. |

Not really. There has to be some soft of software conflict going on. Do you know when it was last working properly? If so, you can do a System Restore. If you need help, look me up on AIM. |

You first need to establish if it's a hardware or software problem...
Have you tried using the hard drive on another computer? If so did it work well on the other drive or not?
Also check here maybe? :conf:

a system restore wouldnt help. because last time it was functioning properly was about 2 formats ago. i reinstalled windows twice and still have the proplem.. however in the 2nd & 3th error message it mentioned some error about "Explorer.exe"?! i know what it is but thow do i fix it? |
