Credit Unions rule

My Credit Union charges me NO FEES WHATSOEVER. I can use any ATM i want and can use my Visa Debit Card pretty much anywhere, but i never have to pay fees.

My bank account is the same except for the any ATM bit, get done 3.50 or something for using another banks ATM. Not a problem in SA, Vic or NSW (my bank ATM's are everywhere), but it bites in any state that doesn't have St George and you've got no choice except to use another banks :whip: :whip:
Thats where it gets gay, why should they charge you for using someone elses ATM when they aren't supplying the service themselves?

Dj Dizzy
dont even get me started, my wife and i lost close to a $1000 over a period of a year at SouthTrust Bank (before they were bought out by Wachovia).

they'd deliberately delay our deposits and let all the BIG transactions hit first them charge us $30 a pop for $5 purchases. we left them and went to Bank of America instead and have yet to have a problem.

i feel your pain... in ******s

I can't imagine where I would be, if I let my balance run that low. :nervous:

I'm not saying that, to bash on you. I'm far from being Mr. Moneybags. I'm just saying that, because I've been living on my own for a long time, and if I only had $15 to my name, I'd be afraid - very afraid.

If you're still living with parents (are you?), it's not as bad, since you have a place to live.

use a credit union.

They transfer funds from my savings to checking if I 'overdraft' and never get charged.

rofl this is a feature at EVERY bank in the world. its called OVERDRAFT PROTECTION. you have diffrent choices for overdraft protection though. you can choose to have it overdraft to a credit card or withdraw money from your savings account whichever you choose.

so you went from one ty bank to another? i work at wells fargo and i think they are a ty bank too! go to a credit union. get away from the big corporate banks. the only one that seems to be ok is citibank but they arent anywhere near as good as credit unions.

Or geez, how difficult is it to live within your means? If you make a deposit and they put a hold on it, just don't spend that money til the hold is lifted. I really get annoyed with people who haven't learned the basics of budgeting and managing their money. If you don't have money, don't spend it. It's not hard.

I don't understand, how people can't manage their own bank account, without hitting overdraft. Either, slow down on your spending, or manage your bank account and credit accordingly. It's not that hard.
