Was a pretty good night.. I was only there for a while early and didnt hear all of Sander but he started off nicely, and looked to be in good health.. djs Romi and Matthew Hahn who opened in the Reed room played a great set that kept me in that room most of the time and Astro and Glyde started things up in the main room nice and deep.. Overall it seemed like a slow night at Crobar which was cool, I wasnt in the mood for a huge crowd...

Astro & Glyde played some awesome tracks early on. There was one with a sample from some video game like Galaga or Space Invaders. I loved it.

Crobar was really, really empty. It was weird.

I went and left 2 tracks into Sander's set. I simply can't stay up that late anymore and get way too tired - i am too old. This has honestly made me consider retiring from clubbing all together. I just do not have fun anymore. I have more fun at home with a few drinks playing tunes then the whole going out .

I was there for a short time, but I enjoyed it

Very, very weird night. The crowd wasn't the normal one at all, felt like most people didn't know who he was, and they weren't all that friendly. My friend said it was like he was back in Pittsburgh. Didn't recognize anyone, except my favorite bartender who no longer works there. Astro & Glyde were pretty good, as was Sander, and I danced til 5:30. I'd never seen Sander and had no idea what to expect. Didn't realize he'd be as housey as he was. Good stuff, and I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more had the crowd been more interested/interesting.

I must mention the new smoking area at Crobar. Or more importantly, getting to the smoking area. Especially after the room becomes a hip hop mosh pit. For a woman, it's like running the gauntlet at the Tailhook convention. Do not get me wrong. I like hip hop, and I don't get offended being felt up by random people. But it's a bit much just to have a ciggie. By the end of the night I was laughing my ass off at the spectacle. Oh, and smoking inside that tiny hallway itself has made me smoke a lot less on a night out. Good god it's nasty in there. But I'm assuming the state of martial law that the police have implemented on 27th/28th streets prevents Crobar from letting people out onto the street, so I don't think I can blame them. Perhaps god is tryin to tell me somethin'...

During Calderone today the bouncers weren't allowing any smoking anywhere in the club, so everybody was smoking in hidding from the bouncers. w/e

Not even in the nasty hallway? Weird.

Yeap, I was thrown out of there. The other day, the judge tossed Crobar case out of the court, so the Crobar bouncers are like in "Gestapo" mode. :whip: I guess they trying to keep the club out of trouble.
