It has a lot more to do with then just the politics of this city's scene.

I am pretty sure Lawler has heard it enough times, from enough people that he should play at Sonic. Bugging him isn't going to get him to do it though.

CD one is my fav on the disc, and one of my fav compilations from the past few years.

CD two is a little bit slower, and like slingy said good for vegging out day after.

CD three is very different, I heard from somewhere that he put it on there as an experimental type deal, and after having listened to it I would have to say that sounds about right.

Not really my cup of tea but worth listening to once.

All in all though, this cd is definately worth it!

Viva continues the thread of Lawler compilations being "meh" at best. Disc 1 is alright, and Disc 3 is virtually unlistenable and Disc 2 is passable.

As for Lawler playing anywhere but Guvernment, *it could happen* but probably not. TCA (The Collective Agency) and Ink-00 (The Toronto super company headed by Charles Khabouth) have a very good relationship together. If you look at the liner notes in almost any Steve Lawler compilation, you will see Lawler personally thank Jose and Talal, (the two guys that book him and take care of him while he is here). I don't know if he'd want to jeopardize that relationship.

Thus, we see the day when Charles subjects the owners of SONIC to a hostile takeover. Once he owns SONIC and monopolizes the entire club industry in Toronto we will see Lawler one day spin at SONIC!:tongue3

It would be so great if Lawler got booked at Dragonfly in Niagara Falls instead of TiL anyway. I'd be able to go play poker make a few hundred bucks. Get a few lap dances at Sundowners and then groove to Lawler at Dragonfly.:tongue2

Yeah, make it happen. I can't stand TiL, but I love Dragonfly. Probably because every time I went for a headliner I stopped by the casino and won $500-600 before Dragonfly.:p

Hopefully, we still get Lawler in December...even though NYE is impossible because Montreal is confirmed like last year. :(
