I gotta do a speech! Need some thoughts....

I have to do a speech on "Why private gun ownership should be banned in the US." It's 7 to 10 minutes max. Based on that topic, do you think it would be TOO specific (ie not well-rounded enough) if I just focus on gun violence involving kids as my "specific purpose" on why private gun ownership should be banned? I've done speeches before but it's funny, this is my first one in english (the language, i mean).
*******NB: I'm NOT asking your opinion on gun ownership, I'm just asking for your opinions on the already-selected speech content, so don't turn this into an NRA convention or some .********
So, I want my specific purpose to be: To persuade why private ownership of guns should be banned due to an extremely high number of children/teenage deaths each year.
Working Thesis: Private gun ownership leads to an extraordinary amount of child injury and death each year in the US.
The more I think about this, the more confused I get, agh!

well, my thoughts on that is simple.
either ban guns completely or make guns available for EVERYONE.

yes, tons and tons of it. (working on organizing it all into 3 main points now).. i keep losing myself in the rabbit hole of research, clicking link after link on NEAHIN and CDF organization sites and like that...kind of like the wikipedia syndrome :haha: |

my problem is that i always second guess myself (hah, this is why i ing SUCK at multiple choice tests....)
oh btw, did you go to see jesus camp? i was literally in my room the ENTIRE weekend doing ing papers and reading. ffs. sorry i couldn't come, i will still see it, eventually.. |

| easy..... kids cant drink til theyre 21+, not to mention, get into clubs in most of the USA at the age also.... the fact that 14 y/o's and lower can fly planes and use guns is sad.... dont really have too much to add to the issue unfortunately |

I am in a gun community and I been sport shooting since child's age. I am sorry if this is off-topic or if create more problems for you speech preparation:
I think the problem is with guns being sold on a black market in USA & the problem with some states selling guns right out a store to costumers with verified driving licence. (should be more restrictions) :mad: |
