the list is useless... its comparing apples and the oranges that i sell on the weekend off the 101 fwy.

really... how can one or anyone possibly rank djs of all different genres.... how about a poll for ever sub-genre? (wouldn't matter anyway, most people wouldn't notice flawless mixing and trainwrecks if it appeared on your paycheck every week.)

You are so ing right! Everyone will bitch and moan until their DJ is #1.

That is why I don't have a favorite Dj.. :) Cause I believe that Dj's have their nights... They have their ups and down... but yeah.. But I still think Ferry got robbed though man... I thought he should of been world's #4... Or atleast #5....(o_0) But the results are already in so... Can't really do anything about it... Let it be I guess..

The sad thing is most of us in the scene can give two s about this poll but those in place for bookings take this thing by its marketing bs and run with it. So it is lame and means nothing to most of us but does effect who we see in the club and how often.

+1!

Where is Luke Fair? Nic Fanciulli? Why is Masiello ranked 70, way below other DJs? Why is JZ ranked behind G&D?
Why do I care about this list?

To be straight up honest, I don't even see americans who are interested in this poll voting for Dan that much.

I think something with the system is seriously flawed. Somehow someone exploited it or something. Because that list is just rank in how it's setup.

I'm not saying any DJ or company they are involved in are responsible. It might be some crazed fan or group, but this list is just seriously ed up.

BTW, J00F is an amazing DJ and should be top 10 or 15 to me, but you see little PR for him and PR is so important in the EDM world.

i agree. dj dan #5 is proof that the system is flawed or a fraud. there's no way that standing is legitimate. hopefully a scandal is made out of this and djmag will die :)

DJ Dan has been climbing up the ladder these past few years. Why does it surprise you that he was #5?

2006.- #5
2005.- #24
2004.- #24
2001.- #46
2000.- #94

It's a popularity contest people...just as in school, the most

popular kids weren't always the smartest. That is also true of this

joke called DJ poll. The only problem with this is that it effects the DJ's tremendously because money hungry promoters that don't have a clue about the scene worship this list. And great quality DJ's suffer from the effects. It's vital that the scene establishes some type of list with accuracy as to which DJ's deserve the proper recognition. This internet voting crap has flaws and just like Dave T pointed out it needs to be fixed.

For example DJ Dan couldn't lace up Zab's boots if his life depended on it. In my entire experience photographing DJ's I could never get into DJ Dan. I tried and the guy bore me to death!!!

Christopher Lawrence a higher rank then Sasha??? what has this world come too. By far, I honestly thought this was Sasha's year.

Nothing tops last years ATB ranked in the top 10. (he still plays 9pm till I come) :)

Pay no attention to this nonesense list. However I would like to congratulate Paul Van Dyk for winning the popularity contest for the 2nd straight year in a row!

qualitatively: because i've heard him before and he is too bland to make such an impact on any poll. quantitatively: because i talk to a lot of people who are into house music on the weekends and of all the djs everyone talks about, dj dan has never been mentioned. ever. i've never encountered a dj dan fan and yet the united states is supposed to be his base of support??? statistically, i should have heard at least one person rave about him.

past years' ranking mean nothing. how do you know he or his team or his fans haven't been manipulating the poll for more than a year? you know to make a top 5 ranking believable, you have to have a progressive plan to get from #94 to #5. think in terms of if you set out to become the top house dj in this poll, how would you proceed?
