if i could it would be pitfield.
The reason this election means so much to me is because it could affect my job. It also affects my daily life since im in toronto 5 times a week. So transport for me is a big issue. Which is why its a shame that those who work in a municipality dont have the right to vote when policies affect them almost as much. |

There is nothing wrong with making reasonable demands. My problem is mainly when neighbours have no tolerence for neighbours.
asking for better transport is not the same as whining because you moved in next to a loud business. |

i just think there would be more turnout if people who worked in a city could vote there as well
As it is, property owners can vote even if they dont live there. So why not employees? |

Because that opens up far too many problems. For example ... my office has a Beijing location. People from there work in Toronto every so often, and the head-office is Toronto, so I bet their paycheque says "Toronto" on there somewhere. Are they "an employee in Toronto"?
Better examples ... truck drivers that drive through Toronto. Flight attendents/pilots flying into and out of Toronto. NHL referees working the Leafs games ...... "resident" is a fairly simple definition, "employee" is quite different. |

| i agree. people spend 40+ hours in a city because they work there, it's practically their home...they should be able to vote since it directly affects them too. |

please.
there was no vote.
miller had a lot of plans but didn't do all in his term. he may have all the fancy plans now but once elected he just sits there and does nothing. we don't need a mayor like that. |
