Why should we characterize everything, and give everything a name. Most of the new Trance isn't even real Trance anymore, so what does it matter.

To clarify:

Neo-trance seems to be this form of music that was sprung off the minimal techno movement when they started to add more melodic elements like pads and simple synth leads to it. Folks began saying it sounded like trance music, but because trance had become synomonous with epic Dutch supersaw breakdown/build dance music, they decided it was a new -or 'neo'- form of trance.

The thing is most of it just sounds like what trance sounded like before the Dutch got their hands on it: classic trance.

So, which is it:
Minimal techno offspring, or old trance brought back?

Old trance brought back.

In certain productions i can get a similar feeling from sounds that are raw, dark, and industrial but that can be played at 132-134 sound melodic and do the business energy wise like old-trance used to.

ps. didnt the old-trance sound come from guys like Vath adding melodies to a previous incarnation of techno? Seems to be the same trend here.

Love it.

Trance from nowadays sounds like Trance from the old days??

If only that were true.
