what kind of coffee do you usually fix?
granted starbucks isn't the best out there, but its not bad |
i usually have espresso's, or mocha's. here at my univ. we get "pura vida" coffee in most places, an my favourite one is a student operated coffee house that we have on campus. as far as the coffee i make for myself i have ground Dominican coffee :p i cant stand starbucks, i've had it a couple of times, cant stomach it. |

I feel the need to clarify that I'm not referring to Starbucks when I say I prefer coffeehouses.
Local shops ftw. :) |
damn you people and your good local places
we have one local one thats awesome and has good coffee, but its waaaay too crowded 99% of the time, impossible to find a seat so its no good to go with friends and chill, and no good for homework cause its way too loud
good coffee though :/ |

i felt sorry for all the friday night starbuckers there, and everywhere.
that is all.
p.s.
there where no black people in there. |
I used to work for the company as your basic bartender there. Theres sort of a whole culture behind it, I dunno...I sort of view it as psudo intellectual bull, but whatever. A lot of writers, people just reading newspapers, and people just doing work on their laptops. It's really not a bad place to get some work done...but spend a friday night there? Meh. Only time i'd spend a friday night there was if my friends from work were meeting me there when I got off at around midnight to go OUT and drink...or we would drink on the patio when everyone was gone and just hang out....but i'd still rather be partying somewhere else. You have no idea how much money that place makes from the people who come in every day and chill out like that (the store I worked in did about 27-35k a week....and considering a drink is anywhere from 1.98-5'something, thats a LOT of ing coffee....nonstop job pending where your store was). At my old store we had at least 10-20 regulars who would come in and get multiple drinks and just hang out. Some were cool people, some were s....but I usually didn't care if they left good tips (there was one guy who treated us like all the time but litereally left us 6 dollar tips PER drink that he ordered...so nobody cared). Ah...I sort of miss that job....oh...and...yeah...the demographics are heavily in the favor of white people...so thats not really a racist thing to say more than a fact... |

I became addicted to the lounge/coffeeshop EDM scene when I was in the Netherlands. So nice being able to go into a coffeeshop/bar with loads of comfy seats, sit down, smoke up, listen to some great house/trance/techno/dub/reggae/etc. being spun live and still be able to talk with your friends and meet all kinds of interesting new people.
That's my scene right there. ;) |
Yeah! There's actually a coffee lounge called Cool Grindz thats really trendy in my town (tallahassee, florida) that just started a drum n bass night? wtf? I'm going to try and talk to the production group in charge and see if I can squeeze a house shindig in there and get myself a few gigs. The atmosphere is really chill, and I can see it being a nice place to play than the regular kiddy clubs in college towns:whip: |

+!
although I do need my nights of sweaty dancing, violence and binge drinking for release, you've got it to the T. There was an awesome, intimate little brick tea house downtown here that had a drum&bass night, and the attire was even semi-formal. Soo chill. Plus, who says you can't dance in coffeeshops?! :p |

The only coffeeshops I'd ever hang out in are in amsterdam.

wow that'd be a strong ing drink
between the espresso and the syrups that'd be like 20% espresso, 20% pure sugar (syrup) and then 60% milk
thats a load of sugar
but yeah, it'd wake you up quick |
