While we may NOT agree on the same music genre, we DO agree that we love Sony. I look forward to hearing what you have to say on your PS3 experience. |

Nobody is saying the Ps3 is a bad system. Iam sure it will be a great system. But, the ps3 is not as powerful as the 360 (and anyone who wants to challenge me on that i accept). the problem is sony is hyping a system that most people can't afford or take full advantage of. In Canada, its gonna be $650 plus tax. waay too much. How many people do you know that own a LCD tv? Iam the only one of my friends and I paid $5000 for my sony. Most people won't even dish out half of that. |
actually quite a few new yorkers i know own lcd's and plasmas. i think people need to stop bitching and moaning about the price point that Sony has set the system at. I won't argue statistics about which diode is better or what system is running a better chipset with cooling systems. just the fact that it's blu-ray capable should be a hands down given to the technology. that doesn't mean we need to bash the price point because if I was the creator of the ps3 I'd probably price it just as competitively because
1-You're getting a blu-ray player (storage capacity on blu-ray destroys any mass media portable storage device on the market)
2-You're getting a gaming system that equals (if not less or more) than what the 360 offers
3-It's equipped with HDMI out which will be your true tell tale to a 1080p signal.
For me it adds up 300 or so for the gaming system and 300 or so for the newest technology media player on the market (blu-ray).
Overall, I think it's a decent buy for $600. People need to think of it more as a MCE and not just a gaming console. usb ports that also indicate you can add any usb device to it, most probable a loading deck that will get modded similar to the psp hacks.
and I own a Sony Bravia KDL-V40XBR1 myself, paid 2800 cash msrp 1yr ago was about 35. HDTV all day every day |

You so clearly have no clue what you're talking about when it comes to both the gaming industry and gaming in general it's absolutely astounding. |

Oh ya bro, i know what you mean. I have a Sony KLV-S40a10 and plus some other stuff i bought for it came up to five grand. Again, iam not saying ps3 is a bad system. Blu-Ray could be a feasible technology. All the kudos to sony for attempting this technology. But most people I know will not dish-out $2000 + for a tv plus 800 more for a ps3. We'll just have to see how things go. |

No, that's not the case at all. When someone offers such blatantly uninformed opinions as you do, portrays themselves as the ultimately brand loyal fanboy, and in general has no logical, rational, or reasonable input on the disucssion, then quite frankly I feel I'm every bit within my right to call you clueless.
You don't see me disecting such a well written post as kid nyces, do you? He actually offered an insightful look into the changing perspective of gamers. While I don't agree with his estimation that the core mentality of a gamer has changed so much that Sony is really catering to the demands of gamers, I respect his ability to put forth a rational argument in opposition to what is easily the biggest criticism of Sony right now.
You on the other hand, post rubbish like this:

You clearly have formed an opinion based on some of the worst reasoning I've ever seen and really offer nothing what-so-ever with regard to intelligent discourse on the subject. So you see it's not that you're disagreeing with me that renders my opinion of you as "clueless," but rather it's complete lack of substance in your posts that makes me confident in my estimation of your cluelessness. |

isn't that always the general concensus, "for a ps3", it's more than a gaming console in my opinion, just because it has the ability to upconvert dvd as well as push out true 1080p on a blu-ray diode
and i think i still have my atari, definitely have my NES which is currently connected to my LCD at the moment. contra is huge! |
