it's a nice feature to have for long trips.

i absolutely hate cruise control. makes me feel like i'm not in control of the car, and when i'm in a car... well, i'm kind of a control freak.

I use cruise control on long trips, only (i.e.; driving out of state). When you're driving hours at a time on the highway, your right calf and foot can use a rest. PLus, it's great for maintaining vehicular speed awareness / reducing risk of getting a speeding ticket, and excellent for highway gas milage.

During my drive, back to NY - with the rear seat area (I literally couldn't see out of my rear windows) and trunk loaded to the max from packing, I was still able to achieve 31mpg, in my Jetta. :D

i thought this thread was about Tom Cruise being back in the movie business.

its good on long trips so your car keeps you at a set speed and you have less a risk of getting caught speeding...well that is only if you set it for the speen limit and not over.

its also good after a night out.. set it for the speed limit on the hwy on the way home and its one less thing to think about...wow that kinda sounded bad

Not true. People who are about to fall asleep behind the wheel need SELF-CONTROL, to get their butts at a rest area or stop on the shoulder, if necessary.

I would have used it if I had the option on my older vehicules.

I used to spend 3 hours a day in the car and got plenty of tickets :clown:

But not once did I get a ticket during out of state travelling for speeding! ( did get pulled over and given a warning once ... )

yeah, but truckers, bus drivers etc, do not always have the option to stop, and by using your feet, and your mind, to watch the speed, is a way of having something to do.. if youre just sitting there, holding the steering wheel, watching the dark road, lights flicker by, making your eye lids more and more heavy, then youre ed...
