sorry but this kind of debate makes me want to cut my veins ... and yeah you can avoid the comments that slicing ones veins isn't the most effective method of suicide but you get my point!

Blah, it irritates me that people don't know what fate means. STOP CONFUSING FATE AND DESTINY!!!!

The examples theresa gave were pretty terrible. You spend all your money and you're fated to be broke. Yeah right. Fate deals with something you cant avoid, hence unavoidable. You can avoid spending all your money pretty well |
No, the outcome is what is unavoidable. You were fated to be born when your parents did it. You are fated to die because everyone has to die one day.
You are fated to be broke when you spend all of your money. What you are suggesting is that you can NOT spend all of your money and therefore not be broke, however, that is assuming you choose to take that path. If you do not, and you spend all of your money, the result, or fate of those actions is that you will be broke.
You could argue that your being born was not fate. Well.. if your parents hadn't did the nasty, then no, your being born was not fated. However, because they chose that path, it became their fate.
Fate is an outcome that cannot be changed due to a series of events or decisions already in action. |

seems more like a consequence than fate. I shoot someone in the face, they die. Thats just simple action - reaction, not fate :p |
