oh, coz false hope is such a wonderful device for cretins to fool themselves with . its people that ally themselves with unproven notions of magic that i find "pitiful".

speak for yourself. romantic nonsense without a shred of evidence to support it. the universe is billions of years old, bigger than any of us can ever imagine, thousands of planets, and YOU think YOU'RE life has special meaning? :haha:

if people wanna believe nonsense in order to make themselves feel better, then so be it. but emotional crutches like that wont help people command their own destiny.

Ok, well you just continue being bitter and unhappy and proclaiming that things such as God and Destiny and Fate don't exist... and I'll go on being fantastically happy with my own life and beliefs. :)

*edit

ps - it's YOUR life... not "YOU'RE life".

And I never said that ONLY my life has special meaning. Not once. ;) I said it gives people hope, and from MY experiences, in MY life, I CHOSE to believe in fate & destiny. Silly!

People tend to become grammar Nazis when they know that their argument is weak. You can tell he's intelligent, minor mishaps happen all the time.

Judging by the tone that's apparent from his words, I'd say he, himself said he was bitter. He spazzed out and went off on a tangent about how there are billions of people and species in the world, how dare I think that my life is special... way to attack someone for simply saying it gives people hope.

Believe what you want - but there's never any reason to knock on other peoples beliefs... especially if A) they aren't even remotely trying to push their beliefs on you, and B) it makes them happy.

What the do you care what I believe in? Focus on yourself!

i see where both of you are coming from and i'm somewhere in the middle
the answer?
instead of describing him as bitter and unhappy...try cynical
then everything's solved
cause he is cynical, but its not a negative word by definition, i'm cynical and i know it

:stongue: :stongue: :stongue:

What argument? I wasn't aware I was in one. ;)

oh, and what exactly makes him intelligent? The fact that he doesn't believe in something? So people who have beliefs in higher powers are unintelligent? :stongue: wow. Ignorance hits all people at one point or another.
