i'm the same way, i'm not the best swimmer so when i'm in the ocean i stay away from where the sand drops or where the waves start to go over my neck. (might have to relate to how i almost drowned when i was 10):conf: |
I'm actually the same. If I can't see the bottom, I'll freak out and swim back to shore as fast as I possibly can.
Or if I'm walking along and my foot hits something either slimey or sharp, I'll jump up, squeal and haul ass to shore.
Yet I want to swim with sharks. |

I wouldn't EVER swim with sharks; you gotta be pretty mental to do such a thing. |

+ 1 on the not being able to see the bottom. I see things in my head a lot of times haah (crazy imagination) and see weird things in the water and freak myself out.
But I would love to swim w/ sharks. I've always wanted to, but just haven't actually done it.
I've swam with a baby shark before (like 6 feet long) and actually held it and stuff like that. It was island of the cost of Cancun or something like that.
I might go swimming w/ sharks in a cage during the Christmas break. I'm spending Christmas in Hawaii and maybe i'll look more into it.
but i'm also kinda scared of the fact of being dropped off in the middle of the ocean and not being able to see land. I find that freaky as hell haha.
I should have never watched Deep Water :nervous: |

"The Whale Shark (Rhincodon typus) is generally regarded to be the World's Largest Living Fish, having been reliably reported to reach lengths of at least 16 metres (55 feet), and reputed to reach as long as 18 metres (60 feet). However, the largest Whale Shark ever captured measured some 12.6 metres in length and was harpooned off Baba Island (near Karachi, Pakistan) in November 1949. The girth (distance around the thickest part of the body) of this specimen measured some 7 metres (23 feet) and the whole shark was estimated to weigh about 15 tonnes (15.5 tons)."

he 3,427 lb White Shark: The Largest Fish On Rod and Reel
Angler Donnie Braddick and I with the 3,427 lb white shark at Montauk Marine BasinThis shark was a little over 17 feet long and took us an hour and forty minutes to put the first gaff into it and then, after struggling for another hour, we finally got the fish secured with a tail rope, and dragged it home behind the boat.
Back at the dock at midnight, it took us another three or four hours to weigh in the fish, take photos and put him on a bed of ice for the night at Montauk Marine Basin. This picture shows where we brought him out in the morning to be examined by National Marine Fisheries Service scientists Jack Casey, Wes Pratt and their crew from the lab at Narragansett, Rhode Island.
