can some explain this to me please...
if you need custom ear plugs because your dj monitors are taking a toll on your ear, wouldn't the ear plugs just lower the levels and frequencies to what is considered safe? then doesn't that mean that they're effectively reducing the volume or reducing certain frequencies? if so, isn't this a little similar to just getting used to djing with your monitors at a lower volume?
i'm thinking that the ear plugs lower the volume in some way. am i wrong? i've only ever used a disposable foam plug at clubs or airplanes, and these do lower noise levels, which i would compare to lowering the volume.
i realize this is kind of stupid, and i would like to be thinking about this correctly:tongue2 |

yes, you can turn the volume down, but it's still ING loud!
trust me, they make a world of difference
and even when the monitor is turned down, the music can still be heard at ridiculous levels
but the quality of the music from these ear plugs is still VERY good...
i'm so glad i have them
but that's just dj'ing...it makes a world of difference on the dance floor as well |

| My hearing is going big time too....Its only when people try to whisper while were in class. I dont know if its from me being by the speakers all the time in the clubs, but i told my mom my hearing is going and she just laughed at me:whip: |

yeah but what i was really trying to ask is does it not sound like the volume is turned down having the plugs in? |

ER Series Custom Earplugs
Sensaphonics ER Series high fidelity earplugs were developed specifically as hearing protectors for musicians and production personnel who are exposed to unsafe sound levels. Unlike the muffled sound quality produced by over-the-counter earplugs, the ER Series is specifically designed with music in mind, making them perfect for concert-goers as well. ER Series earplugs give balanced sound reduction with very little disruption of frequency response. Definition of mid and high frequencies can be heard clearly for a safer, yet truly musical listening experience.
ER Series earplugs are different than any others on the American market. First, ear impressions are made by an audiologist. Then, custom molds are made of a unique, super soft silicone gel, so they can be worn for hours without discomfort. Finally, Etymotic filters are completely embedded in our ear molds, reducing the risk of the filter inadvertently falling out. Filters are offered in three levels of hearing protection.
ER-9 Nine decibels (dB) of noise reduction, perfect for everyday use
ER-15 Offers 15 dB of noise reduction for more intense environments like concerts
ER-25 A full 25 dB of filtering to counter prolonged exposure to high-noise conditions
All three ER earplug filters are interchangeable. Earplugs may be ordered with or without a connecting cord.
We offer custom colors (up to three) at a modest extra cost. Custom cable lengths are also available.
Sensaphonics ER Series high fidelity earplugs are highly recommended for concert-goers, musicians and production personnel, and anyone else who lives or works in a high-noise environment. Protect yourself from the damaging effects of extended high decibel exposure without compromising the enjoyment of music - invest in a set of ER Series earplugs! |
i remember when above and beyond were at spirit last time these are the plugs they were using |

Thats what I'm thinkin' too. I'll probably get them. I saw djTek, and Bogartgreens suggested the same model. Then I was surfin' around some club pics, and saw one dj wearing them ! Seems like the way to go for $12.
Thanks Mike.. |
