gotcha, thanks

I saw a picture of somebody wearing these.. and they come out about one cm beyong your canal.. maybe more depending the shape of your ear.

I dont think it'll be a problem with these, especially if you wear your headphone on the back half of your ear (half covering your ear).

Will be getting mine this weekend, and will report back....

Got the earplugs.

For $12, i think they're the best earplugs you could buy. They were a little difficult to get into my ears and sealed, but that could be specific to me due to the shape of my ear canal.

I had them in and CRANKED the stereo to full volume, and found the plugs work well : Audio quality and clarity wasn't compramised, just volume reduced.

Thats the key, get them sealed. You have to bend them a little.. your ear canal takes a sharp bend right away and you gotta tuck them in just right. If you've put them in too far, you'll know ! YOur ear is really sensitive. But realistically, i dont think you can touch your inner ear with those plugs.

I just kept working them til they were sealed.. we'll probably get better at putting them in the more we use them.

They'll be great when they're in, then you can just rock out on the main floor, and never have to stop dancing cuz your ears are shreaking from the highs. lol.. too many times thats happened to me.

This is exactly why I used to stuff my ears with cotton, when I went out clubbing. Hearing is priceless.

i've had these ear plugs for about 1 year 1/2 now. the best way to place them is (for me at least) when putting it into my left ear i reach behind my head with my right hand, pull the ear to the back of the head, and then insert. it opens up the canal more for the plug to slide right in. same goes for the right ear, but i reach around with my left hand and pull the ear towards the back of the head. these plugs are the best on the market, easily. glad to hear they came down in price. i got them when they cost 25 bucks. and they are still worth it at that price.

i saw a training somewhere (probably at work) on how to put earplugs on and they said you should do it exactly how you described it.

tae introduced me to er-20s years ago and i have worn them ever since. I carry them everywhere in my purse - i've worn them at clubs, bars, weddings and other places.

The only problem with the er-20s is that i don't think they are quire strong enough. the foam earplugs protect to higher decibels. i use a lot of compressed air and i need the higher protection. i tried to wear my er-20s at work once instead of the disposable work earplugs we use but I accidentally threw them out with my hairnet. after that, i figure i can wear the cheap disposable ear plugs at work and save my good ones for music.

Got my er-20s today. At first I thought I was putting them in too deep - they go in really far  - but I guess the largest flange has to seal all the way, so I think I'm doing it right.

Once they were in I was really impressed, no problems with quality or hearing things at all, just like everyone says - everything was just quieter. I put on my headphones (Sennheiser HD 280s) and I could feel a little pressure on the tips sticking out, but it didn't really bother me at all. I think I'd be able to mix with these in no problem. And I could turn the volume all the way up, these suckers are awesome. $12 well spent.

Now I've gotta go try em out in a venue somewhere...

do not trim them, that tip part is where all the work is done for reducing the sound.

there are other earplugs out there that can reduce more DB's. i actually have those too, tho i don't like them for going to the clubs, as they lower the sound down so much where it distorts the sound and you can't really make out what your listening too. here is where i've been getting my earplugs from http://hearos.com/products-music.htm . i've got the high fidelity series (similiar to the er-20's) and the rock and roll series. for work related jobs that are always using air compressors and such, using the rock and roll series are perfect.
