Totaly, when i first started I would find myself finding rhythm in everything. I would see a beat in things as obscure as picking up the paper, moving it, then putting it down. Words on adverts on the TV. Putting something in the pan to boil. It was kind of odd!

So cool though - I think when you go through that you know you've 'got it'. Cos some people, poor souls, just dont click.

PS This is a cool thread!

lol, so true some of the locals around here are really garbage, and honestly can't mix, and have the worst track selection ever. They must not get any exposure to new sounds or anything, yet they are paid to play absolute horrible tunes. The owners wonder why no one comes out anymore to their clubs. Then they walk around like there Tiesto. Can't help to laugh. The most annoying ones are the types who are so eager to get on and will backstab and talk about any other DJ to get on the decks. I can't stand that .

it gives me something to look forward to

Reading this thread is really inspiring. I'm very new to DJing (so new, I don't even have any equipment yet) but I find myself trying to mix by playing one song on i-tunes and another on winamp. Every day I dream about just being able to mix together two songs and just marvel in the magic that two perfectly mixed tracks can create. I know I will suck at first (not to mention be very poor), but the pursuit of that magic is just too appealing to give up now.
