I hope the manager has a system that will compare to Cielo's (which has to be where he heard Francois K, since he has a Monday night residency there). Try his site, http://www.deepspacenyc.com/, there are some mixes for streaming, but they are Real Audio files, sorry.

Also, maybe someone will correct me, but he doesn't play "banging NY house." When I hear that term, I think of DJs I don't like, like Boris and Jonathan Peters, who don't play similar stuff to Francois K.

If you want some bangin' NY house, check out... Erick Morillo, Robbie Rivera, Victor Calderone, Dave Morales, DJ Rooster & Sammy Peralta.

Or, you can book me at that club in Cali, pay me... fly me... feed me... house me... and Ill school you guys on the west coast of what NY house is about.

I get the feeling from his first post that NY House isn't what he wants, he just miscategorized Francois K's sound since he plays here.
dj tek

ok so what style would you say he plays?...thats why i was asking for similar dj's or some tracks that would follow those lines...i checked out that website you suggested and that set by francois k definitely doesnt sound housish...im guessing either the manager is clueless as to what is house or he mixed up his dj's...either way what would you categorize Francois K as?...i looked him up on the net and he was categorized as Deep House that liveset on www.deepspacenyc.com sounds nothing like deep house

I've never seen him, since he's usually out on Mondays. I'd recommend going to www.rhythmism.com and doing a search for Francois K or Deep Space and reading reviews. From what I've heard, he's very diverse. I know he did a live techno PA over the summer (I think on a Thursday) that I backed out of at the last minute because it'd been a rough week at work.

Oh, search the Rhythm forum and the Auralism forums.

Francois K mostly spins Tribal-Tech House. (known in the 90's as Acid House) The big time tribal-tech DJ/s in cali are from "Sugar Ant Invation" based in LA. Check out El Reyalto radio show on Frisky or search to download his mixes. Some of them are in NYTA Download thread, uploaded by Tiesto14. Also, I'll upload a Francois K mix I have. He spins along with Junior on One Nation.

trying to 'sound' like francois k, eh? good luck.

he did an essential mix recently.

his tracklisting greatly varies, depending on the circumstances of the party he's playing at.

he's also the label boss of www.wavemusic.com

recently (about a year ago) did a remix of goldfrapp's "ride on a white house" which is a hot.

and, there are no similar dj's. he's francois k.
